This type of equipment is closer to traditional “embossing” or “impressing” in concept. It utilizes a precision-engraved metal roller to transfer textures onto the film surface at the moment the UV adhesive is cured.

PET is a crystalline polymer with a glass transition temperature (Tg) of around 70°C. At high temperatures, it undergoes significant dimensional shrinkage, and its surface lacks a sufficiently thick amorphous region for embossing. The coating layer is made of amorphous acrylic resin, which has a low Tg and good flowability. Under heat and pressure, it accurately replicates the pattern of the embossing roller, and the structure is locked in upon cooling.
